I'm a bit overdue reviewing Upper East, mostly because there has been a crowd every time I have tried to sit in for a meal. Today however, it was very well worth the wait, and I understand why the crowds are at Upper East. Honestly, the food was amazing - well seasoned, presented well with an ideal portion size. A trendy restaurant in a very popular part of town. I chose the half chicken dinner, which was perfectly cooked and delicious. It was served over sweet plantains in a mango chutney sauce. There were several TVs throughout the dining area, all showing sports events, very popular. The service was good, food was well prepared and brought out in a reasonable time. This is a fun vibe, I highly recommend it.
First time at this place visiting Escondido. Ordered Ahi Tuna salad. The dressing and veggies are good. However, the tuna didn't taste fresh, it was tough to bite and chew, dry and it seemed like it had been in the fridge. My hubby and I ordered the same and he had the same feedback about the tuna. I don't think will come back at this restaurant.
